We can tell you that there are two materials that are absolutely safe: Titanium and PTFE. Both of them are 100% nickel-free, meaning that you can start using them as soon as you get your piercing done without any risk of suffering from allergy.

That doesn't mean that you don't need to take proper care of your skin. You always need to keep your hands and the area of your piercing completely sanitized when inserting or removing jewelry.
